Maria O’Hare currently lives with her son and partner in Spiddal, Galway, Ireland. As a mature student, with very little formal education, she fulfilled a life-long dream of going to university. Maria graduated with 1st Class honours degree in Archaeology from Queen’s University, Belfast, several years ago and went straight to PhD level, completing her doctoral study and has been doing freelance specialist work (pre-historic stone tools) for academic institutions and commercial archaeological consultancies since that time.
Maria’s broader research interests eventually led to writing about a heated topic – evolution and the problems and solutions to Darwinism. After learning to publish everything herself, (as the subject matter of most of her books was outside the mainstream scientific dogma), and as she was doing everything that any other small imprint would do; even down to getting books into real bookshops, she formed her own imprint and named it DiG-Press. This is when she started writing books, alongside the more scientific ones, on everything she has learned in the process about publishing, distribution, design, formatting and share it with others. See further on for some of these books and/or check out the free resources on this site for the most essential aspects of publishing independently.
